Couture Cowgirl Partnership

Meredith Lockhart of Thistles West and Merezia is proud to announce that a partnership agreement has been reached for the new Couture Cowgirl line with Missy Unruh of www.silversteerboutique.com. We will be developing more t-shirts, jewelry and bags. A new website is being developed and will be coming soon (CoutureCowgirl.com). For now the products will be available on Thistles West and www.silversteerboutique.com. We are also developing a wholesale line which will be available in Denver this week.

I am very excited about all the possibilities of what we are planning to do with Couture Cowgirl. The association with Missy brings a whole new level of creativity and experience to the table. So, all you cowgirls, and city girls too, start getting story ideas together of what you think it is to be a Couture Cowgirl as there will be contests!

Couture Cowgirl Photo Shoot

Here are a couple of photos from our recent photo shoot. I want to say a huge thank you to Cactus Creek in Westen, Mo for letting us use her shop for a backdrop. I also want to say a HUGE thank you to Stetson Jeans and Carhart for the jeans(the gals love them). And to Corral Boots and De La Cav boots for sending boots to use with the t-shirts. The pretty models are Carla Feese, Courtenay DeHoff and Julia Othmer. Carla and Courtenay are both cowgirls and Julia is a singer songwriter from LA.

Hoping everybody had wonderful Holidays! I was busy at home, even with the blizzard, there was plenty of Holiday things to do. I want to wish everybody a prosperous New Year!

2010 looks to be a promising year with lots of new things coming on the horizon. Thistles West has many new items in process and will be up on the site soon. Couture Cowgirl is just in it’s beginning stages, but there are some VERY exciting things going on with it in the future. So….. keep checking back to see what’s coming as I will let the “cat” out of the bag sometime soon as to what all the new things are!

Upcoming Fashion Shows

Besides sewing all the beautiful rodeo queen clothes this summer, I have been working hard on designing and making the outfits for the runway shows for my Thistles West line at the Cody High Style Show and the Style West fashion shows and retail show in Cody, Wyoming September 23rd – 27th. These are fabulous shows that showcase the best of the best in Western Design thru furniture, fashions, jewelry and art. Designers from all over the country show in these shows. Check them out at:

The outfits I am doing this year are very different from last year. The outfits for the shows reflect my love for working with many different types of leathers. I have done quite a few with deerskin which I dearly love to work with. I have thrown in some specialty leather such as some metallics pearlized gold overlay printed suede’s to create a wonderful unexpected eclectic mix. I am also throwing in some silk items with the leather. The set of eight fashions for the Cody High Style Show are a specially created line to reflect an updated version of Buffalo Bill Cody style fashions for women. You know, similar to the jackets he wore with the beaded designs and fringe on them. Of course, mine are a little different with painted designs, instead of beading, as I have to do my own take on them and not all include jackets of that style. I am using a very interesting color palette for these outfits which will remain a secret until the night of the fashion show, Sept. 23, 2009.

The outfits for the Style West Fashion Sow are going to be quite different for me. I am mixing western with another popular fashion style that will be quite a surprise. These have been so much fun to design and have given me a chance to design and work with new leathers and fabrics. This is all I can say for now, but may give a few sneak peeks right before the shows.
